Hi, I'm Mohammad
I’m a proud Darebin resident for over fifteen years, a social justice advocate, father and engineer. I will be a strong voice for social justice, inclusion and sustainability in Darebin.
We need councillors who represent the diversity of our community and will stand up for those doing it tough. I am a member of Darebin for Palestine and currently serve on the Darebin council multi-faith advisory committee. I will use my engineering background in the water sector, as well as my extensive community work, to bring a fresh perspective to Council.
Council must play an active role in responding to the big issues through local action. Our community is struggling right now with the cost of living and affordable housing. I will work to ensure the Council supports affordable housing initiatives.
I will work to roll out neighbourhood batteries, support local businesses, create safe streets, and invest in our public transport.
I am committed to fostering equality and diversity, and listening to the needs and ideas of residents. Together, let’s build an inclusive Darebin where everyone can thrive.
