hi, i'm ravneet.
I’m a registered nurse and an advocate from the northwestern suburbs of Melbourne.
As a child, I migrated to Australia with my family and we have experienced first-hand policy failures of both the major parties. Through the challenges me and my family have faced, I quickly realised that parties in power don’t really care about everyday people - they prioritise their own political interests, while everyday Australians struggle with rising costs, unfair policies, and a lack of real support.
The community of Calwell has been taken for granted for too long by the major parties. Our community deserves someone who will truly represent us. We can’t keep voting for the same 2 parties and expect things to change.
I’m proud to be nominating for the Greens because we don’t accept donations from big corporations and billionaires, and we are genuinely fighting for the dignity of ordinary people.
We want to make big corporations pay their fair share of tax and fund things we all need, like dental and mental health into Medicare, government-built homes to rent and buy, cheaper mortgages, 50 cent public transport fares, a rent freeze and a cap on grocery prices.
The Greens are fighting for the compassionate treatment of migrants.
In a wealthy country like ours, everyone should be able to afford the basics and governments should actually solve the problems we face.
The electorate of Calwell knows they deserve more, and I am ready to demand it. If you want change, it’s time to vote for it.
