Samantha Meredith

Councillor for Maribyrnong City Council - Saltwater

Hi, I'm Samantha

I’m a local teacher, an advocate for sustainable, safe and liveable cities. I am running for council to advocate for a fair and equitable Maribyrnong. As a dedicated teacher with twenty years of experience in the public education system, I am passionate about empowering young people to thrive. I am the founder of the Joseph Road Precinct Action Group (JRPAG) and was a regular Lifeline volunteer.

In Saltwater ward, we have opportunities for progressive change by creating safer streets, sustainable urban planning and affordable housing. Council can play a central role in addressing the climate crisis, investing in infrastructure and advocating for affordable housing across the city.

As a queer woman, having personally experienced discrimination, I am committed to building an inclusive and welcoming community. The West also needs more green spaces to mitigate climate change and combat the urban heat island effect.

Our community has been neglected for too long and needs councillors who will push for progressive change in Maribyrnong.

Your vote is powerful.
