The Greens will also act on the recommendations of the Mental Health Royal Commission so that it doesn't just remain another report sitting on Labor’s shelf.

The Greens believe everyone should be able to access mental health care when they need it. We will continue the roll out of free mental health care across the state.
- A health-led response to mental health emergencies

When someone is having a mental health emergency, it should be health workers, not the police, who lead the response.
- More rehab beds

At the moment, when people want support with drug or alcohol addiction, there are often no public rehab services or beds available to give them the support they need.
The Greens will develop a plan to significantly scale up public rehabilitation beds and addiction support over the next five years, to help more people get the healthcare they need when they need it.
- Fair pay for the mental health workforce

The Greens want to see fair pay and conditions for the mental health workforce, including the allied health and lived experience workforce.
- Delivering promised housing support

The Labor government promised $38 million in housing support for people with complex mental health and psychosocial challenges. The Greens will make sure this funding is delivered.
