Stop Burrup Hub

No More Coal & Gas

Tell the Labor Government to use their powers to stop the Burrup Hub gas project in its tracks.

By signing this, you will hear from us about our climate campaign from time to time.

Any day now, we’re expecting WA Labor to approve Woodside’s North West Shelf project, extending the life of one of Australia’s oldest and most polluting facilities out to 2050 and beyond.

The North West Shelf extension is the next stage of Woodside’s plans to expand it’s dangerous Burrup Hub project – a massive climate bomb that includes multiple gas processing facilities and fertiliser plants.

Woodside has already begun upgrading the Pluto gas processing plant to accept more gas from Scarborough gas field and, with the North West Shelf extension, it hopes to open up Browse gas field on Scott Reef.

We must not let this happen.

Did you know?

Whale sharks migrate past Scott Reef on their way to Ningaloo. It’s a feeding ground for endangered pygmy blue whales. Green sea turtles travel thousands of miles to lay their eggs on the sand.

Woodside also needs this project to go ahead to give the green light for gas fracking in the Kimberley, putting at risk the pristine Martuwarra Fitzroy River and threatening endangered Bilby habitat.

The Burrup Hub is projected to produce more than 6 billion tons of carbon dioxide by 2070, making it four times larger than the Adani coal mine and one of the biggest carbon bombs in the world.

Our state’s natural wonders, world-class biodiversity, and liveable cities will all be under threat if we don’t take meaningful and significant action to address the climate crisis by 2030.

Join the campaign to help stop Burrup Hub before it's too late for our planet.
