Holding the big parties to account on their environmental neglect, particularly in relation the WA Government's recent lifting of the fracking ban

Parliament is back once more for the year, and already we have our work cut out for us. The Government’s disgraceful decision on fracking last year has rallied the environmental movement to action, and we are proud to stand with activists, farmers, traditional owners and concerned citizens to stop this toxic industry.

At the time of publication, my staff and I are embarking on a trip to Broome to host a Town Hall Meeting to Ban Fracking. We’re taking the fight against fracking into the heart of the Kimberley, organising with communities to force McGowan’s Labor Party to reverse their toxic decision and ban fracking permanently. Together with local experts and community members, we are forming a powerful force to protect our environment and climate for generations to come.

Liberal, Labor and National governments have let corporations get away with trashing our environment for their own corporate profit. Those parties have stood by while their big donors and corporations have drilled our environment, destroyed our climate, polluted our water supply and devastated our pristine landscape with no accountability. They’re polluting the places we live, our farmland, our rivers and our oceans, destroying the places we love like the Kimberley.

This is our focus, and in the lead up to electing Jordon Steele-John back into the Senate, this campaign holds huge opportunities for us as a movement, both in Perth and in regional WA.

We have of course been working on a multitude of other issues, such as taking the McGowan Government to task over their dodgy contract with Huawei and fighting against incinerators in Perth’s Southern suburbs.

The best thing you can do at the moment is to join a volunteer group or donate to make sure we kick the Liberals out and re-elect our stellar Senator. The work Jordon has done on making a Royal Commission into the abuse, neglect and violence towards people with disabilities a reality in the near future has been amazing. We desperately need to keep him in Parliament, and for that, we need your help.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with my office if you have any questions, suggestions, or good tales to tell. I would love to hear them all!
