Dear friends,

March 23, 2022 all the world Green community will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the United Tasmanian Group (UTG) creation. This date was significant not for Tasmania and Australia only, but  become the birthday of the Green movement as global political phenomenon. The Greens around the world remember well where their roots are all of us from Tasmania!

Today we are thankful to UTG activists for their civic courage, political bravity and great ideological contribution into the formation of the Green basic principles reflected in the founding charter. First Green party proposed to the world really New Ethic aggregated most important human values and principles. Its legacy has been adopted and developed by millions of followers in all corners of the planet.

Today, in Ukraine, we feel especially deeply the significance of our common grounds, as well as fragility of our world. Every horrible day of the war prove that the life is greatest value. That freedom is of vital importance. That there is no alternative to democracy, because authoritarism makes dozens of millions people hostages of arbitrariness of powerful maniacs. Our Green Ethic help us to recognize good and bad, the global solidarity of Greens – from Canada to Tasmania, help us to firmly resist to Evil.

We congratulate you on the glorious anniversary and believe in our better common future!

On behalf of the Partija Zelenykh Ukrainy (Party of Greens of Ukraine) Board,

Vitaliy Kononov, Chairperson
