Hello!
It has been a massive few weeks both over in Canberra and here in Perth.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers, organisers and campaigners who made Adam Bandt’s trip to Perth such a success.
We held one of the largest door knocks we have ever run in Western Australia. 85 people showed up to hit the streets around Hyde Park and talk to thousands of people in our community about the issues that matter to them and what having Sophie Greer as the MP for Perth would mean.
In Leederville, we held a Housing Town Hall in the Garden where 150 people came along to talk rents, mortgages and housing policy reform ̶ including our Greens plan to make sure everyone has a roof over their head.
We announced one of our new flagship policy initiatives for the election in GP for Free. In Perth the average out of pocket cost of going to see a doctor is nearly $50. Every year the price has been going up and the number of clinics who bulk bill go down.
As part of that plan, we plan to open nearly 100 new healthcare clinics here in Western Australia that will let our community go see a GP, a Dentist or a Psychologist for free.
It was a truly special week and a reflection of just how much momentum our campaign for the State and Federal Election has.
Over in Canberra things have been just as busy.
I was pleased to welcome to Parliament House the Cavalcade to Canberra crew. A member of the XR Grandparents cycled across the country, along with a support crew in EVs, to make their voices heard in support of no new coal and gas, and it was a privilege to meet with them at both Parliament House in Canberra and back here in WA.
As we look forward to the next few months I am more excited than ever. Our campaign is having an impact on the community I have never seen before and I can’t wait to see you out on the campaign trail.
In Solidarity
Jordon
