Greens warn Liberals: Don't create PHON chaos in WA Parliament

2016-12-19

The WA Liberal Party must take Rod Culleton’s exit from Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party as red flag that WA’s Parliament would be subjected to the same chaos if they preference the far right protest party first at the March election, warn the Greens.

Greens candidate Alison Xamon said it was unsurprising Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party is dismantling just months after the election, because it follows the same chaotic model of Clive Palmer's United Party which proved to be anything but united.

“Voters need to realise that if they vote One Nation in the March election, they are going to be inviting the same kind of disarray to the parliament that we see Federally," she said.

"And the promise by Pauline Hanson to be an independent voice has proven to be completely false with One Nation only prepared to vote with the Liberals anyway.

"The only contribution One Nation has given to the Australian parliament has been unwelcome and divisive racism.  We don’t need that in the WA Parliament as well."
