What a whirlwind! Firstly, thank you so much to each and every Greens volunteer and candidate who worked so hard to achieve our amazing Greens state election result. This couldn't have happened without you.

These past few weeks have been packed full of our planning meetings with our new Greens state team, media events to capitalize on our great election result, induction sessions at parliament, as well as meetings and briefings with stakeholders. Some of the event highlights have included welcoming home local Doctor Mohammad Mustafa who has been volunteering in Gaza at Perth Airport, attending the Fremantle Murujuga rock art forum, a Stop AUKUS march at Leighton Beach, and a BBQ for Palestine with Senator Steele-John, Swan candidate Clint Uink and Adam Razak our Burt candidate.

I've also been busy helping out on the federal election and was thrilled to spend time assisting over east on the campaigns in the tight races of Macnamara and Wills in Victoria, in NSW on Senator Mehreen Faruqi's election campaign, as well as in regional WA with colleagues in Forrest and O'Connor - and also leafleting and campaign events with many of our federal candidates closer to home!

Our new state team has allocated our portfolios and I'm really honoured to be taking on the areas of Fossil Fuels and Climate Change, Healthy Oceans, Peace and Non-violence, Multicultural Affairs & Anti-Racism, Education, Anti-Nuclear, Resources, Seniors, Social Justice, Emergency Services, Kimberley, Pilbara and the Midwest.

I've started advertising for staff and am still waiting to hear about the location of my office. I'm also really keen to hear from members who would like to volunteer with my office or on any of the campaigns we will be focused on:

•    Stopping new fossil fuel projects
•    Saving Cockburn Sound and Stopping AUKUS
•    Keeping WA Nuclear Free
•    Preserving and looking after our oceans and highlighting climate impacts
•    Anti-racism campaigns

Please don't hesitate to get in touch! I still won't have an MLC email it seems for another few weeks but in the meantime the best way to contact me is on sophie.mcneill@wa.greens.org.au
