Hi, I’m Carl and I’m so proud to be your Greens candidate for South Perth at the upcoming state election.
Like many of you, I’m a renter, a worker, I have student debt, and I want a better future for myself and my community.
I am running as your Greens candidate because I can see a future ahead of us where the basic needs of our communities are actually met by our government. I know that we all feel so worried about the world and I want to be the one of the voices that helps to heal it.
I had a beautiful life growing up – I had free dental care as a child, received Centrelink’s student allowance while at university and I had the support of my loving family. I recognise that this is viewed as a privilege. In a wealthy state like ours, the basic everyday needs should not be viewed as such. I believe everyone who calls Australia home should have access to housing, healthcare and education.
The Greens are the only party who have plans to take away the everyday stress of affording a roof over your head, food on the table and visiting the GP. We can provide real rental protections, cap grocery prices, and make public schools and universities free.
I have met many South Perth residents since I moved into a rental unit in 2020. While door knocking, I’ve had so many enlightening conversations and I hear you: meaningful action on climate change, and the protection of Australia’s native bushland through proper tree canopies and more green spaces for families and wildlife to enjoy.
Just like the abundant birdlife that call the banks of the South Perth foreshore their home, I want to help all Australians who call South Perth their home feel safe and supported so we can all grow and thrive.
All of this is possible, but before change can happen you have to vote for it.
Vote 1 Greens.
