Our branches are part of the Greens grassroots approach to democracy
Joining the Greens Party means having access to a local Greens branch. These hubs are vital avenues for our members to talk about politics and policy, join local campaigning, keep up to date with local issues and have direct access to Greens representatives.
Most of all, local Greens branches are a way for our members to join like-minded people, fellow Victorians who are also passionate about progressive Australian politics. Greens members are extraordinary people, and by providing them with the space to foster proactive political and social change, the Greens aim to instil a long legacy of making a difference in the community.
All Victorian Greens members are automatically members of the Australian Greens. Being a part of our growing party means together, through the principles and aims of the Greens, we can stand up for what matters.
The South West Region branch stretches from Geelong, the Surf Coast all the way to the SA border. Our region includes iconic places such as the Great Ocean Road, the Otways, Budj Bim and the Volcanic Lakes and Plains of the hinterland, along with the cities of Geelong and Warrnambool. Our members are actively engaged in social justice and environmental campaigns on local, state, federal and global levels.

Our members pay our respects to Wadawurrung, Eastern Maar and Gunditjmara people as the custodians of the land on which we live, work and play.
Our branch members include 2 councillors - Chrissy de Deugd (Colac Otway) and Gavin Gamble (Golden Plains) - as well as Victorian Greens Deputy Leader and Member for Western Victoria, Dr Sarah Mansfield.
Our branch meets quarterly, as well as hosting a regular calendar of events right across our region.
There are many ways you can get involved in our branch, including joining one of our subcommittees or joining/helping setting up a local Greens social and action group in your town or area.
