Novoeval Bush Banquet
Combining research, cookery and art this project interrogates the history of food as a signifier of wealth and class and to try develop new thoughtful relationships with food. This lavish banquet, riffing on those of 18th century royal courts, focused on sustainable, native and local products, especially championing oft-overlooked foraged foods.
About the artist
Pascale Giorgi is a multidisciplinary artist, currently living in between Italy and Perth. In her practice, totems of classical culture are subverted through humour and the absurd to make way for mash-ups, hybrids and (lost-in-)translations. This project was developed in collaboration with Esther Moltoni, Kathy Shields and Tanya Taske.
