The Green Issue Editors
This issue begins with an international perspective, highlighting the visit of the Peace Boat to Fremantle and reminding us of the ever present, and recently increasing, threat of nuclear Armageddon. We then look at a Green Party trying to get underway in a country facing difficulties in charting a pathway to free and fair democratic representation – Bangladesh. Implementation of fracking technology is raising the ire of all with environmental concerns globally. We include an article describing the pushback against fracking in the UK, with lessons relevant to WA. Then, getting very close to home, we take a look at how The Greens might fare in the upcoming by-election for the WA State seat of Cottesloe, a blue riband Liberal seat vacated by former Premier Colin Barnett.
