The Federal election approaches, and our priority is to return Jordon Steele-John to the Senate. But to accomplish that we need campaign funds - can you help in this regard?

For February GI, we focus on another major policy priority of The Greens for the coming Federal election - education. We have compiled the works of students, teachers and members of academia to discuss the impact that well planned and compassionate education policies can have on the wellbeing of a nation.

Questions like "who is taking the future of education seriously?" and "does Gonski deliver for the greens?" are asked and answers are attempted in this issue. There is an invitation by a candidate to have a close look at The Greens' policy platform on education. We explain how The Greens would pay for free education, the disgracefully underfunded education system our country is running presently and the policies put forward by the Greens in an attempt to fix our public education sector. And, we also discuss the ongoing problem of bullying in schools.

The February issue also has two articles unrelated to education. One is on "The New Abnormal" relating the history behind Nuclear Proliferation and the theory of MAD, and the now updated concept  of MADDER. The other is on the Palestinian struggle for freedom and a redefinition of this Middle Eastern crisis as an occupation and not a conflict.

We include updates from our Greens (WA) MPs, for the January-February period. There are reports from Senators Rachel Siewert and Jordon Steele-John and our Members of the WA Legislative Council Robin Chapple (Mining and Pastoral), Alison Xamon (North Metropolitan), Diane Evers (South West) and Tim Clifford (East Metropolitan).
