Mark Twiss

Candidate for Scarborough

Hi, I’m Mark and I’m your Greens candidate for Scarborough at the STATE election.

I was a Scarborough resident for 10 years, so this place is truly close to my heart.

As a candidate in the 2021 state election, I met many voters who shared their frustrations with the lack of climate change action. The WA Labor Government’s inaction over the past four years is what prompted me to step up and run again, and I’m proud to be a conduit for people to express their concerns for themselves and their family’s future when it comes to this critical issue.

Climate action at a local level is important to me. That’s why the Greens have policies in place to protect the urban canopies and green spaces. These important natural assets aren’t just vital for the health of our environment – they’re also why so many of us have loved living in Scarborough in the first place.

I’m also aware of the lack of focus given to upgrading public transport service in our local area.

The Greens have a plan to bring the implementation of the Public Transport Plan forward to 2030, speeding up the long overdue review and consideration of a light rail line from Scarborough Beach to Glendalough Station. This would bring much-needed life to the electorate's business district, creating new jobs and enterprise on its corridor.

A greener future for Scarborough is possible – but we have to make it happen together.

The only way to secure meaningful climate action is with a vote for the Greens, so vote 1 Greens this state election!
