Using your phone to speak to your doctor, seek medical advice, and access vital healthcare should be legal and available to everyone - equally.

But right now there is a ban on using telehealth to access voluntary assisted dying.

This means that terminally ill Australians who wish to access VAD, especially those living in regional and rural areas far from a VAD Doctor, are suffering unnecessarily because of an outdated law.

Together, the Federal Parliament could make this simple but important fix.ould be able to see a psychologist if they need to.

The Greens are fighting for this change, to ensure that compassion and dignity are at the forefront for Australians managing their end-of-life care.

Access to VAD shouldn’t depend on your postcode. Terminally ill Australians shouldn’t die waiting for healthcare that would allow them to go peacefully.

It’s a simple reform that will remove an outdated and harmful barrier to ensure terminally-ill Australians can access VAD wherever they live, and be supported by specially trained doctors in making the biggest choice of their life.
