Coal and gas companies like Woodside, Santos and BHP are spending millions marketing to Australian children through schools, sporting clubs, museums and community organisations, and Labor is letting them.

Kids are growing up in a climate crisis caused by the mining and burning of coal and gas, all to line the pockets of multinational corporations.

New research shows that those same coal and gas companies are embedding themselves in institutions that children and families trust.¹

They found over 260 children’s programs, including school curriculum resources like lesson plans and activities that promote the industry and downplay its role in causing climate change. And that’s likely just scratching the surface.

Fossil fuel companies teaching children about climate change is like tobacco companies teaching health or gambling companies teaching financial literacy.

The coal and gas lobby has no place in our children’s education.

Public schools and community programs should be resourced to deliver evidence-based science lessons so they don't need to rely on misinformation and spin from coal and gas companies.

Jurisdictions around the world have banned fossil fuel advertising and their influence on education, including in the ACT. We can do it nationally too.

Sign the petition to tell the Labor Government to end the influence of fossil fuels on children.
