No New Offshore Oil and Gas

Fight for Australia's coastline

Together we can fight to protect our beautiful oceans from new oil and gas drilling.

By signing this, you will also hear from us about our oceans and environment campaigns from time to time.

We must fight to protect Australia's oceans from seismic blasting, new drilling, and carbon pollution dumping

Right now the Labor Government is pushing ahead to approve:

  • Seismic blasting through sensitive marine habitats, including Zeehan Marine Park in Bass Strait - an area supporting a variety of seabed habitats, sea canyons, and foraging grounds for seabirds and the great white shark
  • Drilling for new fossil fuels, including right beside Scott Reef - a marine biodiversity hotspot off Western Australia
  • Dumping carbon pollution into depleted oil and gas wells under the seabed using risky and unproven technologies, in order to extend the life of fossil fuels

This is a climate crime.

Only the Greens are fighting to protect our oceans and coastlines from the onslaught of new offshore oil and gas projects.

The Greens have legislation before the Senate – Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Amendment (Fight for Australia’s Coastline) Bill 2022 – that would stop climate-wrecking projects in their tracks. But we need your help to get this legislation through the Federal Parliament.

Oil, gas and coal are the biggest causes of the climate crisis. We are in a critical decade. We have to halve pollution by 2030 and get to net zero emissions as fast as possible.

Coastal communities have made it abundantly clear - no one wants more fossil fuels off Australian coastlines.

Our oceans are home to some of the most unique marine and bird life on the planet. As we did in the Great Australian Bight, when these climate-wrecking projects are announced we will always fight to stop them.

Will you join our campaign and tell Labor and their corporate donor mates from big oil and gas that enough is enough?
