Stop Woodside's Burrup Hub

NO MORE COAL & GAS

The Labor government has approved over 30 coal & gas projects in a climate crisis. We must act now before it's too late.

By signing this, you will hear from us about our climate campaign from time to time.

Labor has approved Woodside’s North West Shelf gas extension — a climate-wrecking carbon bomb.

This is a key part of Woodside’s Burrup Hub project, which will unleash up to 6.1 billion tonnes of emissions and lock in decades of pollution.

The climate crisis is already here. 2024 was the hottest year on record, and scientists have made it clear: any new coal or gas project makes things worse.

To make matters worse, the decision endangers sacred 40,000-year-old Murujuga rock art. These petroglyphs contain the oldest known depiction of the human face and could be destroyed by acidic emissions from nearby gas processing.

If Woodside's Burrup Hub goes ahead, it will be the biggest new fossil fuel project in the Southern Hemisphere.

This will permit the building of a massive gas field on the pristine Scott Reef, home to threatened endangered species like the green sea turtle and pygmy blue whale.

This decision trashes the climate, sacred rock art and the environment. All for the profits of a dirty gas giant.

This parliament can be different.

The Greens are working every day to push for meaningful change in this Parliament. But we can’t shift the politics of coal and gas without you.

The Greens hold the balance of power in the Senate, and we’re using it to drive the critical action needed to protect our climate, nature and the environment.

We're working to:

  • Stop damaging new coal and gas projects.
  • Strengthen our broken environmental laws.
  • Protect Country, communities, and nature from further destruction.

Labor and the Liberals keep siding with fossil fuel corporations, even as the climate crisis worsens.

It's going to take all of us.

Join the campaign to Stop Woodside’s Burrup Hub and demand Labor reverse this climate-wrecking decision to approve the North West Shelf extension.
