There must be a review into the toxic AUKUS deal to find out how we got into this mess and how to get out of it.
AUKUS was signed in the dying days of the Morrison Government, with Albanese blindly supporting it.
The decision commits the next generation of Australians to a dangerous and rushed deal that ties Australia to the US military, while depriving the community of over $375 billion.
This was all agreed to by Albanese’s inner circle without any review, analysis or consultation.
With $375 billion, nuclear waste, Australia’s independence and peace in the region on the line, we need an inquiry into the dirty AUKUS deal.
With the US and UK conducting their own reviews of this deal (despite Albanese giving them $5 billion each with no clawback mechanism), the time for a review is now.
The Greens are calling on the Government to:
- Immediately review AUKUS and how we got into this mess.
- Provide a clear plan for a safe post-AUKUS future before we waste billions more.
The Greens are still committed to ending AUKUS altogether, but the public deserves to know what the major parties have signed them up to.
Join us in calling for an inquiry into AUKUS.
