The Queensland Greens acknowledge the High Court's decision today that former Senator Larissa Waters was, in fact, ineligible to sit in the federal Parliament.
"It is now our expectation that following a countback by the Australian Electoral Commission, former Senator Andrew Bartlett (who ran second on the Queensland Greens Senate ticket) will be declared elected", said party spokesperson, Penny Allman-Payne.
"The party's normal senate pre-selection process for the next federal election is then expected to begin following the next State Council meeting, which is currently scheduled to take place in December."
