You should have received an email from OpaVote on Monday 13 April inviting you to participate in an electronic ballot on how the Parliamentary Leader of the Australian Greens is elected.
This plebiscite has been years in the making. In 2018, Queensland’s State Council agreed we support a change to provide greater membership involvement in the election of leader, and National Council also adopted this position in November. Members now have the opportunity to vote on this.
We'll need at least one in five members to participate and 66% in favour of any one option to proceed, so it's very important you have your say.
You’ll find the wording of the ballot paper, information about voting and the "for and against" arguments for each of the options here. Voting closes on 11 May.
