The Australian Greens' Mark Quinn shares his insights into his experience as the National Office Manager.

1. What do you remember about your first election?  

It was 1993 and I actually voted for the Democrats.

2. Endangered Australian animal who's captured your heart?

Hairy-nosed wombats.

3. What's your precious place and why? 

My home, because it has everything I need to relax.

4. Favourite Greens policy?

Our mental health policy because that area is in desperate need.

5. Best part of your work with the Greens?

The diversity. Each day is different and requires different skills.

6. What keeps you going?

I feel like I'm contributing to the overall ethos of the Greens, which I am committed to.

7. Favourite political song? 

John Lennon's Give Peace a Chance.

8. Who inspires you? Why?

Stephen Hawking. Despite a crippling disease, he was one of the world's greatest minds.

9. Comfort food?

Ice cream.

10. What would you spend $20 billion on? 

I would buy properties and make them available to low income earners.

11. Secret vice?

Maxibon caramel ice cream sandwich.

12. Best coffee/drink in town? 

Vanilla latte from the Coffee Company.

13. Three apps you can't live without?

Outlook, Spotify and OneNote.

14. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A doctor.

15. Morning run or night time swim?

Night time swim.

16. What's your greatest hope for the future?

That world leaders see what we are doing to the planet and take steps to cut our reliance on fossil fuels.

17. Magic wand to solve one world problem – what would it be?

Poverty.

18. What advice would you give a new volunteer?

Feel good about what you are doing, because you are helping to save the world.

19. You can travel through time – where do you go?

To meet John Lennon.

20. If you weren't doing this for a living, what would you be doing?

Running a computer sales and repairs store.
