A fairer NSW

The NSW Greens campaign is already in full swing with a skilled and experienced team of campaigners determined to build our biggest community-based election campaign ever, with our largest ever campaign team.

As in Victoria and Western Australia we plan to speak directly to hundreds of thousands of people about their concerns, their ambitions for themselves and their children and how the Greens can work with them to build a fairer, less corrupt and more equitable Australia.

We plan to at least double the number of seats we hold in the Legislative Assembly, adding the new seat of Newtown and with an outside chance of winning either Ballina or Lismore, as well as adding a sixth legislative council seat to the five we currently hold.

As the Australian Greens grow, our campaigns become more exciting and more cooperative. The buzz of the campaign office now includes staff and volunteers visiting from Victoria, fresh from the campaigns that delivered the seats of Melbourne and Prahran. Admittedly, the sudden election in Queensland has stolen a few folks but we look forward to welcoming them back with even more knowledge under their belts.

Together, we're working to replicate those successes in NSW, building the momentum that motivated thousands of people to knock on 150,000 doors and make tens of thousands of phone calls in Victoria.

Already in Newtown, for example, volunteers have been out having conversations with thousands of voters; people who are disillusioned with the graft, corruption and inequity that has flowed for years under successive Labor and Liberal administrations, voters that are looking for something different and better and who see the Greens as providing that alternative.

The corruption of public services, the alienation of public space for private profit and the privatisation of public assets for the benefit of the elite are all things which party and parliamentary representatives have campaigned against for years and the Greens are increasingly seen by the electorate as the only real alternative to more of the same.

Jamie Parker's team in Balmain have been on the campaign trail for months, listening to constituent concerns and speaking up for the people of NSW in Parliament.

And behind the scenes, MPs Mehreen Faruqi, John Kaye and Jeremy Buckingham have been working alongside Senator Lee Rhiannon and lead candidates to develop more than 20 new initiatives to make NSW better — watch the web site as we release them over the coming weeks.

We hope you will join us on the campaign trail as we work towards offering everyone in NSW an alternative to years of corruption, broken promises and graft.

If you'd like to join us to help get our message out you can volunteer to join our growing crew.

Don't have time to spare? No campaign is complete without the financial support of the tens of thousands of people around the country who know that to compete with the massive resources of the two old conservative parties we can't rely on the corporate donations of mates, and who understand that our best resource is our thousands of committed supporters.
