moments you might have missed from the campaign trail

By Your Greens Team

There’s less than 1 week now until the Federal election, and it’s clear that our Greens campaign is on track to be the biggest in our 33-year history!

This is a pivotal moment for our movement.

On the Sunday after the election, we could be looking at a record number of elected Greens in our Federal Party Room – ready to shake up the system, keep Dutton out, and force Labor to act on the cost of living, climate and housing.

Here’s some highlights from this hectic month on the campaign trail!

Our ‘dental into Medicare’ giant toothbrush hits the road

If you’ve flicked on the telly or seen our social media pages recently, you might have seen our new bestie in action: the giant toothbrush!

She’s been spotted on national TV and at some iconic landmarks like Melbourne’s Luna Park.

It’s all part of raising awareness of our policy to fully cover dental health under Medicare. Because taking good care of your teeth is essential healthcare!

Massive western Sydney turnout to take on the major parties

Greens leader Adam Bandt and deputy leader Mehreen Faruqi were joined by over 300 supporters to lift the roof in western Sydney. The energy in the room was electric!

It's clear that the community is sick of the same Labor and Liberal parties never delivering on the change we so desperately need. Only a vote for the Greens will keep Dutton out and force Labor to act on the issues that matter to everyday people.

Nick McKim’s Fortnite streams pick up 1M+ views

Our economic justice and treasury spokesperson Senator Nick McKim – running again as our lead Senate candidate in Tasmania – has been making his mark with Gen Z voters online, live-streaming on Twitch (follow him here!) playing the hugely popular game Fortnite while answering questions about Greens policy.

It’s not just our team loving his content – his videos have racked up well over 1 million views across our Instagram and TikTok channels. It’s true: we do politics differently!

We are SMASHING pre-poll across the country!

Thousands of volunteers have turned out this week to cover polling booths across the country, with early voting having kicked off on Tuesday this week.

We’re so grateful for each and every one of you. Your hard work is ensuring that millions of voters are better informed and know that there is a party fighting for them this election. Let’s bring it home in this final week of the campaign!

Check out these wonderful volunteers at a pre-poll booth in Sturt this week, joined by our dynamite candidate Katie McCusker and senators Sarah Hanson-Young and Barbara Pocock!

If you haven’t already, this is your call to be part of history with our Greens movement this election.
