National Conference July: happenings and highlights

2019-06-28

The Australian Greens National Conference is almost upon us! So what’s on the agenda for our first national conference since the recent election?

By the Australian Greens

National Conference is always a great opportunity for our community to come together and work side-by-side for a stronger Green movement.

And at this upcoming National Conference, we’ll also be taking stock of the federal election campaign and its results, and looking ahead towards developing the Party further to take on the challenges that lie ahead.

While we’re still working on finalising the program, we’ll be elevating and celebrating voices that are heard less often than they should be. There’ll also be training in how to campaign and organise, and opportunities to work with MPs and National Working Groups to shape Greens policies.

On the agenda are multiple panel discussions, including how the Greens can break through the Lower House; abortion law reform; campaign innovations; the meaning of sovereignty; and many more.

There’s also a range of workshops planned, on topics ranging from the Australian Greens New Deal to inclusive education and employment.

We’re also looking forward to an election evaluation report delivered by former senator for WA Scott Ludlam.

And with a great many more training sessions and presentations – as well the opportunity to meet and speak to the Greens party room and fellow members from around the country – one thing’s for sure: this National Conference is not one to missed.

We’ll be releasing the finalised agenda closer to the date, so keep an eye out for it.

You can also spread the word by sharing the Facebook event here.

So please join us in Adelaide on July 20 and 21 – tickets are still available here. We’d love to see you there!

Note: agenda is subject to change at any time without notice.
