In 2016, the Greens established our gifts in wills program as a very special way for our supporters to help build a future for all of us. Today, we officially launch that program: EverGreen.
By the Australian Greens
It is with great pleasure that The Greens formally announce the launch of our gifts in wills program, EverGreen.
This program was established as a direct result of a gift left in the will of Greens stalwart Louise Crossley in 2016. National Council agreed that a portion of Louise’s generous gift would be used to establish and grow this very special program.
EverGreen has been established to develop awareness among our Green community about making a gift in your will to the Greens, and how these very special gifts can make a huge difference to the work that our Party is doing for building a future for all of us.
A gift in your will (also known as a bequest) is one of the most effective ways you can help secure the future of The Greens for generations to come. While some gifts are small and others large, all are welcomed and valued. They are vital to providing The Greens with the funding base necessary to achieve our aims for the benefit of our children, grandchildren and beyond.
In September 2018, we appointed The Greens’ very first bequest officer, Rosalie Gorton-Lee. It is Rosalie’s job to reach out to people who have indicated an interest in the EverGreen program, and to provide them with the information they need in considering The Greens when writing their will. Rosalie’s commitment to the Greens and our collective future is so strong that she’s an EverGreen member herself, having generously made a very special bequest to the Greens in her will.
Rosalie has already spoken to many of our supporters, with some of them indicating that they either have or will consider leaving a gift to The Greens in their will. These wonderful people are given the opportunity to become part of EverGreen, and to be recognised on our honour roll. Other people prefer to keep their intentions private.
Today, as well as formally launching EverGreen, we are proud to unveil our brand new website to support the program: evergreen.greens.org.au. Here, you will find everything you might want to know about the program. In addition, you can read stories about our benefactors and discover more about how these very special gifts are making a difference to the work of our Party.
