What disruption looks like: real wins, real change

By Your Greens Team

Politics in Australia is dominated by fossil fuel giants, billionaires, and corporate donors. But your support is disrupting their grip on power — and showing what people can achieve together.

In recent years, we’ve faced relentless attacks. From major parties and their corporate donors. From media outlets running their own agendas. From far-right, fossil fuel-funded groups like Advance Australia.

They’ve spent millions trying to stop us. Why? Because, with you alongside us, we’re disrupting business as usual.

When we push to end fossil fuel expansion, deliver housing and tax reform, and shine a light on political donations, we’re threatening the profits and power they exist to protect.

And it’s only possible because supporters like you have dug deeper than ever before. During the last election cycle, more than 28,000 individual donors gave what they could in once-off gifts, as committed Climate Champions or as regular donors, helping to build our biggest grassroots campaign yet:

  • We knocked on more than 650,000 doors.
  • We had more than 9 million visits to our website.
  • More than 1.8 million people voted Green — the most ever.

You supported more than 20,000 volunteers to keep the momentum going. From phone calls and flyers to digital campaigning, you’ve helped grow this movement from the ground up.

As you’ve heard directly from us, the election brought with it some tough results, but it also gave us a historic opportunity: the Greens now hold the sole balance of power in the Senate.

We could never have achieved this, and held our national vote steady through such a dirty campaign, without you.

So while some spend millions trying to tear us down, we’re focused on the future.

This parliament can deliver real progress. We’ll be firm but constructive with Labor, working for outcomes that improve people’s lives and protect the climate — as voters across the country entrusted us to do.

And thanks to your support, we’re already hard at work:

  • We’ve spotlighted the government’s secret National Climate Risk Assessment — piling on the pressure for them to release it before announcing our 2035 climate targets.
  • We’ve introduced a climate trigger bill to stop new coal and gas projects and ensure decisions are based on science.
  • We’ve launched a Senate inquiry into the SA algal bloom disaster to expose government inaction, protect marine life, and support the coastal communities affected.
  • Pressure for housing reform is growing, with ACTU and ACOSS now backing the Greens’ long-standing call to fix negative gearing and capital gains tax so more people can access secure, affordable homes.

So, thank you. Whether you chipped in during our EOFY appeal or backed us during the election, you’re part of a people-powered movement that drives everything we do.

Looking ahead, we know the pressure will only build — the attacks will keep coming, and the stakes will only grow.

But because of you, we’re ready to meet the moment.

Thanks for backing people, not profits. Thanks for refusing to be silenced. And thanks for being disruptive.
