Some great breakthroughs for the Greens this year in State and Local elections and in taking centre stage in Federal politics. We are well positioned for the upcoming election season.
We would like to acknowledge the Dharug and Dharawal people on whose country we live and work and pay respects to elders and ancestors of this country and recognise the important role we all play in telling truth, enacting treaty, and elevating First Nations voices.
The Greens are getting heard
This year has seen the Greens grow as a movement and as a political party. We are becoming known as the party who will stand up for our principles and be a voice for those less powerful in our society and overseas. That voice is increasingly heard in all levels of Government as we see election wins, most recently in the Northern Territory with our first parliamentarian and in NSW local elections.
Success comes because of the dedication of our wonderful volunteers who care passionately about the Greens and our campaigns, as well as the hard work of the staff in the AGs office and across the Member Bodies.
The national organisation
At the National level the Greens continue to come together as a movement and make the most effective use of our resources. National Council and the Office Bearer team have been working collegiately through the essential business of running the party and ensuring that our team has the support that they need to campaign for our causes and elections. Combining the tasks of running the Incorporated Association with the needs of running a political party has been a key focus of the year.
As Secretaries, we have been involved with the National Committees and Working Groups who facilitate so many aspects of the party operation from AGs governance to international Greens affairs. We would like to thank all of those involved for their commitment.
The AG team
Running the Greens and organising all the campaigns, meetings and conferences could not happen without the hard-working team of staff and Office Bearers. Behind everything from our systems to the launch of key policies is a team which has earned our thanks. Much appreciated everyone and we look forward to working with you for what is looking like a significant year for the Greens.
