Dutton’s radioactive lies put SA's clean energy future at risk

The Greens say they will block Peter Dutton’s dangerous lies on nuclear reactors and nuclear waste in the Senate, slamming his radioactive announcement as a risk to South Australia’s clean energy future.

Greens Senator for SA Sarah Hanson-Young is spokesperson for the Environment:

“The Liberal Party’s dangerous climate wrecking nuclear policy is a sham. It’s a danger to the economy, a danger to the climate, a danger to power bills and danger to our state.

“Peter Dutton is the Mr. Burns of Australian politics and the Greens will block his dangerous radioactive lies in the Parliament. We will fight Dutton’s toxic plan in the Senate and we will fight them in the seat of Sturt.

“Peter Dutton’s nuclear lies are a threat to the South Australian community and a threat to the clean energy economic transformation already underway here and around the world.

“Peter Dutton’s radioactive lies are toxic, expensive, dangerous and will stall our work to tackle the climate crisis. The Greens will save South Australia’s clean energy economy from Dutton’s nuclear madness.

“The scientific and economic evidence from CSIRO and other experts is crystal clear: clean energy is cheaper, faster, safer and more reliable.

“This election the choice in SA is clear: Liberals are for nuclear, Labor is for more coal and gas and the Greens are for clean renewables.

“South Australians don’t want a Peter Dutton’s nuclear waste dump or radioactive culture wars and the Greens will block it in the Senate.”
