The Australian Greens have announced WA Senator Dorinda Cox as the party spokesperson for sport.

“With great pride I have been asked by Greens Party Leader, Adam Bandt, to hold the portfolio of Sport on behalf of the Australian Greens.
“Sport has played such a big part of my life, especially in my younger years when I tried my hand at anything and everything - softball, tennis, badminton, cricket, netball, basketball. I also enjoyed little athletics with my favourite events being long jump, triple jump, discus and javelin.
“Community sport is the fabric of our nation, and as a basketball mum most Saturdays, I know we need federal and state government investment to secure community sport and participation.
“As cost of living pressures rise for families, sport is often the first thing to be let go.
“I look forward to leading conversations that ensure equitable access to sport at all levels is possible now and for future generations.”
