Greens Senator for SA Sarah Hanson-Young has slammed the State Liberal Party’s anti-South Australian budget.
“Steven Marshall and Rob Lucas have delivered a horrific anti-South Australian budget that will have a disastrous impact on our state’s already high-unemployment rate,” Greens Senator for South Australia Sarah Hanson-Young said.
“Slashing and burning 4000 jobs from the public sector, closing TAFE campuses and forcing up the rent on those doing it tough is a disgraceful attack on the fabric of South Australia’s society.
“Taking an axe to climate change programs and cutting jobs in the environment department is the wrong way for our state. We need action on climate change from every level of Government.
“The environment taking hits like this after the Morrison Government turned its back on action on climate change is regressive and sets a dangerous precedent for future State Liberal budgets.
“South Australians love our clean, green environment and we want to see it protected. Deprioritising the environment and climate change while they cut thousands of public sector jobs gives us little hope that the State Liberal Government is on the side of South Australians.”
