NT Chief Minister must scrap Beetaloo & Middle Arm gas projects. Fyles called to Senate Inquiry

Acting Greens Leader Senator Sarah Hanson-Young:

“Given the litany of revelations, I will be calling on Natasha Fyles to front up to the Senate Inquiry into the mammoth Middle Arm gas project. The influence of the gas and mining lobby over politicians must be scrutinised.

“Natasha Fyles may be gone, now the NT gas and petrochemical projects in the Beetaloo and Middle Arm should be gone too. The next NT Chief Minister should come clean and scrap them immediately.

“It’s unconscionable that federal Labor continues with the $1.5b in federal subsidies for the Middle Arm project.

"Australians are sick of politicians in the pockets of these corporations.

“Despite attempts to greenwash, Beetaloo and Middle Arm are dangerous projects that will hurt public health and wreck the climate.”

Senator Sarah Hanson-Young is the Chair of the Senate Inquiry into the mammoth Middle Arm gas and petrochemical project. The project was originally announced by Scott Morrison as part of his ‘gas-fired recovery’. Federal Labor supports it receiving $1.5b in taxpayer subsidies.
