The Greens movement remains oN the just side of history, and incredible election results this past year show our message is cutting through and reaching people right across the country.

I would like to acknowledge the saltwater people of Larrakia Nation, on whose country I now live and work. Larrakia has been and continues to be a truly welcoming place and I pay respects to elders and ancestors of this country and recognise the important role we all play in telling truth, enacting treaty, and elevating First Nations voices.
Political actions at home and abroad have demonstrated an emerging societal consensus of the need to take care of, and protect our home. The Greens movement remains of the just side of history, and incredible election results this past year show our message is cutting through and reaching people right across the country.
This has been my second term as National Secretary and I continue to be blown away by the incredible work undertaken by volunteers in our organisation, and the extraordinary dedication of our staff at all levels.
A federal election and the end of the two-party system
Incredible work undertaken at the grassroots level, and compelling national messaging have seen our federal party room nearly double in size – an unsettling fact for the complacent, entitled and entrenched old parties.
The two-party system is on the way out, and a new, truly representative multi-party paradigm is forming. Increasing numbers of people will put their power where there ballot is, and vote for a sustainable future as we continue to spear our message and the four pillars ideology.
While the 2022 election was remarkable, and local and state elections have been buoyed (or elevated) by the result, our work is far from over.
The national organisation
Integral to our country-wide endeavour are the hard-working volunteers of National Council. I sincerely thank each and every one of the member body delegates and commend them for their resilience, patience, and good humour.
Our party now embarks on its next journey, looking to the next election and beyond. At the December 2022 National Conference, we will touch on our strategy and planning for that journey. Stay tuned…
National team
I commend and sincerely thank the National Office staff for their amazing work, creativity, and inspiration. They each live and espouse the values of our party and are a source of stability in our movement – we could not do this without you.
A special thanks to the unflappable Brett Constable. I remain exceedingly grateful for your focus and conviction.
Finally, thank you to the Office Bearers team: Matt, Will, Heather, Sue, Gemmia, and James – I appreciate the collegiality and the laughs.
